What changed in Octopost, newest first. If a change could break your agent or script, it is listed first under “Breaking”, and MCP tool results carry a notice until the old behavior is gone.
MCP and REST errors now say what happened and what to do next, with the exact link (wrong or missing API key, no active plan, no X account connected, expired sign-in).
Public roadmap at /roadmap: where each network stands, and an email when the one you need ships.
Setup pages for each MCP client: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI.
OpenAPI 3.1 spec for the REST API at /openapi.json.
REST API keys, snake_case fields, Bluesky and Mastodon fixes
Breaking
MCP tools now accept only the networks Octopost publishes to: twitter, threads, bluesky, linkedin, mastodon. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, Slack and Telegram were removed from the platform list because posts there could not go out.
The REST API accepts your op_ API key (Authorization: Bearer or x-api-key). Before this, only browser sessions worked.
REST create accepts the snake_case fields the docs use (scheduled_for, queue_status, media) as well as camelCase. A scheduled post sent with scheduled_for no longer becomes a draft.
Bluesky threads reply on your own PDS host; Mastodon sign-in returns to the right URL.
Network status stated everywhere: X live, Threads after Meta approval, Bluesky, LinkedIn and Mastodon in testing.
Free thread splitter and character counter at /tools/thread-splitter.
Claude Code plugin and agent skill: github.com/octopost-ink/octopost-plugin.
Paid trial, X allowance, plan changes
Every plan starts with 7 days for $1 (card required); no free plan.
Monthly X post allowance per plan (Basic 500, Premium 1,500, Business 4,000 units; a post with a link uses 13).
Upgrading or downgrading switches your existing subscription and prorates it, instead of starting a second one.
